Hammam Jarrah

Located in the Suwayqa neighborhood just outside Damascus’s Old City, near Hassan Mosque, Hamam Jarrah is a Mamluk-era bath rebuilt during the Ottoman period. Its richly decorated entrance leads into domed chambers with skylights and stone iwans surrounding a central stone fountain. Elaborate plant and geometric motifs attest to the continuity of classical bath traditions into later eras.
