Gates and Towers

It means ‘gate of the gardens’ and was the entrance to the city’s surrounding orchards. The city’s inhabitants used it as the main route between the city and the countryside.

Special Details

Consists of two gates, inner and outer, with a stone lintel inscription dating to its construction; dimensions are 4.31 m in height and 3.50 m in width, still clad in iron. Byzantine era, early centuries AD.
