Al-Atiq souq operates as one of the earliest and most distinguished historical souqs of Aleppo since it exists in the bazaar system around Aleppo Citadel. The souq maintains its original character through its tight covered pathways and has existed as the main center for leather and raw materials trading since medieval times. It comprises around 48 shops that specialize in various types of leather, maintaining its traditional character through its narrow passages and stores that display meticulously crafted leather goods.
