Along the pilgrimage route in the Al-Midan district, the Al-Daqqaq Mosque stands, a vibrant testament to Mamluk memory since 718 AH / 1318 CE. Founded by the judge Karim al-Din al-Misri to serve passing caravans, its layout prioritizes functional simplicity، a small courtyard encircled by arcades, and a prayer hall covered by three light domes. The square minaret features a sundial designed by the Damascene scholar Ibn al-Shatir, making the mosque a destination for enthusiasts of the history of science.
