Bab al-Jinan (Bab Jnin) is one of the gates of the Ancient City of Aleppo. It led to the western gardens of Aleppo, home to pistachio orchards and fruit trees on the banks of the Quwaiq River. It was a center for money exchange, goods shipments, and general trade, but it was demolished in 1892-1893 AD to widen the road, leaving no trace of it. In addition, Bab al-Jinan was close to the Souq al-Hal, considered the first cardamom souq in history. It was a center for fruit and vegetable trade and was part of the Souq al-Hadir, which Hulagu Khan destroyed during his conquest of Aleppo.
