Na‘san Palace, A Living Damascene Legacy
Na‘san Palace is located in Old Damascus near Bab Sharqi and showcases traditional Damascene architecture in all its splendor. It was built by Salim Na‘san in 1607 CE, and today sits near a workshop dedicated to the craft of arabesque and mosaic production. The Na‘san family continues to reside there, and the palace remains open to visitors and tourists.
Inside, a guestbook holds thousands of signatures from distinguished figures, tourists, and admirers. Spanning 4,000 square meters across two floors, the palace boasts numerous halls and rooms, as well as exquisite fountains, fustuqiyyat courtyards, water basins, ornamental vessels, and an abundance of intricate decorations and carvings.
