Khan Qurt Bek

Founded by Qurt Bik, Khan Qurt Bik served as a key center for Anatolian timber trade. Its tall, arched gateway was specifically designed to allow easy entry for camels loaded with goods. At the heart of the paved courtyard stands a wooden platform that functioned as the stage for weekly timber auctions, highlighting the khan’s important commercial role. The Antique Auction was inaugurated as a regular event, revitalizing the traditional market and introducing visitors to the history of the khan and its economic role.
