Historical Landmarks

““Five basalt columns stand in a row 9 meters high, forming a monumental entrance to the Roman road to Antioch. The Greek inscription immortalizes the Amorite king Gamliel II as an ally of Rome. The Polish expedition dug a drainage channel to expose the foundation. The site is open for tourism and an interactive panel demonstrates the Roman perforation technique of assembling stone cylinders.
