The Roman Bath of Shaqqa is located in the town of Shaqqa, which served as a significant cultural and urban center during the Roman era. The bathhouse was constructed as part of a broader civic complex that included temples and watchtowers, reflecting the town’s integrated urban planning.
Its layout reveals multi-functional chambers—including steam rooms, hot and cold-water areas—alongside remnants of a hypocaust underfloor heating system, a hallmark of Roman engineering. The bath remained in use through the Byzantine period, after which it gradually fell into neglect as the town’s population shifted toward its outskirts.
