Souk al-Attarin/Souk al-Abarin (Spice Market/Needle Market)

Historic Souks and Khans

Souq Al-Attareen is one of the oldest souqs in ancient Aleppo and is considered a continuation of the main axis of the souqs, with a total of 82 shops, including 43 spice merchants and 33 textile vendors. It is named after the most famous item sold there. Souq Al-Attareen stretches between Souq Al-Zarb and Souq Al-Habal, covering a length of approximately 250 meters. The aromas of pepper, cinnamon, saffron, and spices blend with the scent of Aleppo thyme, local flowers, and fragrant chamomile everywhere.
