Tell Shihab

Castles

Tell Shihab is considered one of the archaeological mounds that contains remnants of multiple civilizations, as mentioned in the texts of Pharaoh Thutmose III. It retains a Roman aqueduct that descends to a waterfall, which was used to operate Ottoman mills, along with rock-cut tombs. The Pharaonic inscriptions and Byzantine artifacts document the site’s continuous occupation for over three thousand years.
