The Covered Souk (Souk al-Masqouf)

Historic Souks and Khans

The Covered Market is the longest commercial artery in old Homs. Its iron roof was first installed in 1896 by Abdul Hamid Pasha al-Drubi and later renovated in 1912 by Governor Mohammed al-Jundi in the style of Damascus’s Souk al-Hamidiyah. The market stretches 420 meters, with a semi-cylindrical roof that diffuses intense sunlight.
