Baron Hotel: Aleppo\u2019s Historic Landmark
\nThe historic Baron Hotel is located in the heart of Aleppo, specifically in the Azizieh district on Baron Street, near the National Museum.
\nThis hotel is the oldest in Syria and the entire region, having opened in 1909. It later expanded with the addition of a second floor in 1911 and a third in 1940.
\nThe story of Baron Hotel dates back to the late 19th century when a member of the Armenian Mazloumian family, while passing through Aleppo on their way to Jerusalem, noticed the discomfort of European travelers staying in traditional caravanserais. The family decided to build a modern hotel in Aleppo, starting with Hotel Ararat at the end of the 19th century.
\nLater, brothers Onig and Armenak Mazloumian expanded the family\u2019s enterprise by establishing the new Baron Hotel, with its first floors opening between 1909 and 1911.
\nBaron Hotel became Syria\u2019s first modern hotel, adhering to contemporary standards. Over its long history, it has hosted numerous prominent and globally recognized figures, including:
